Cheers guys - reassuringly, it sounds like normal behaviour then.

    !st -2nd clunk

When driving at leisurely pace, I move off by slipping 1st gear to neutral to 2nd and all is smooth. On occasion, I have accelerated more quickly from the off, shifting from 1st to 2nd without the pause at neutral. Sometimes it goes to 2nd gear smoothly, but on occasions it graunches horribly...

    Which hook is best?

Anyone out there who is involved/knows about winch challenges etc. who can answer the above? I need to know which hook to have on. No pics available, sorry, before the inevitable emoticon appears :)

    Which hook is best?

I recently took my old rough wire rope off my superwinch husky and replaced it with a nice new one. The hook that was on the old cable is bigger and swivels, (but is very rusty). It has no safety catch on it. The new cable came with a hook that does have a safety catch, but is fed through a...

    Wheel `interchangability`!

Not sure if I just invented that word......however, the question. I have four 7"x15" 5-stud alloy wheels on ebay,(and in the for sale section), which came off my def 90. i`m being asked, quote `will they fit a series Landy?` unquote. No more info than that. Will they, or do I need to know...

    Studs!!

I`ve just bought four 8 x 15 black modular steels to put on my 90, which I hope to fit next week. The 90 came with 7 x 15 alloys. Is it the case that the studs in use now, won`t fit the steels?

    Bead Protectors

Seen these on sevaral Landies, and some not particularly challenge vehicles either. The question i ask is `Are they an extreme activity accessory, or do they have a valid function on mostly road going with some offroad playtime vehicles?` I like the look of them, but dont wanna look too posy ;)

So far 58 peeps have read this post and not a single response !!!!! Which Battery isolator switch?

It will be hidden or in a non obvious place, but you can`t get too extravagant with the routing `cos of the heavy battery cables which aren`t too pliable. Anyone whose serious enough about having it away, will. Hopefully most will not be prepared to spend the time searching, or indeed have a...

    Which Battery isolator switch?

Hey Griffdowg, thanx for that. I do run a front winch but as yet hasn`t been used, (its a bit untrustworthy ), although I do like pay and play days and have joined a local club so it may get active with them if I get into trials. If I do i`ll go for a split charge system anyway as back...

    Change of doors

My 90 is a `94 300tdi. The doors aren`t too bad at the bottoms at the moment, but when I do change them I want to lose the modern handles. Can I get 1-piece, Series doors with the old fashioned handles to fit? I dont mind wind up or sliding windows but would like to know my options. Would my...

    Which Battery isolator switch?

I`m gonna fit an battery isolator switch with key for a little extra security. I`ll be buying from ebay where they range from £4-5 + p&p up to £50. That`s quite a range!! Some are described as `heavy duty`, although the pics or description don`t show any difference. Anyone fitted one, and can...

    Dash light illumination

I did take pics of the newly illuminated dash Sirus, and was gonna try to post them, (although i`m a dummy at this unless theres a REALLY easy way to do it). However, using the flash dampened the dial illumination and with no flash didnt do the real brightness any justice!!!!! So no point...

    Dash light illumination

sypher, I left the green filter in so that should help, although come to think of it they did f*** all to diffuse the original bulbs so p`raps not. What do you mean `frost the LED`? Oh sheddyOO, speedo was the worst dial, almost black I couldnt see my speed at all. Now its the...

    Dash light illumination

griffdowg......in the instructions that came with the bulbs it did say the green inserts could be removed but if so could never be put back. Also, it looked as tho` if you did remove the green insert the orifice (oooer) would be too big to accept the bulb. So I left them in. I`ll look again and...
