OK, further to my earlier thread, I've found the following circuit diagram for the possible problem fuse No. 9: Am I right in assuming that all that is connected to this fuse is the wiper controls and washers?? If this is correct, I'm guessing that the 0.55 amps being constantly drawn...

Try covering it with a Tarp as well to help prevent any extra water getting in, this will help to dry it out if you are suffering with damp.

No I have checked the alarm/immobiliser, defo not that .......

OK I have removed the cable on the top of the alternator, but the current drain is still present with this disconnected. Does this mean that I can eliminate the alternator, or do I have to also remove those 2 small wires (multiplug) at the back of the alternator which are impossible to get to???

Fingers crossed, I'm sure it can't affect every battery and most of the failures seem to be early failures within the first few months, so if your is older than this you may be OK :D

Problem is in the last couple of years there have been a lot of issues with Optima (Red and Yellow), the older batteries seem fine but the new ones are not good. There has been a lot of discussion about it on here and other forums and the general concensus from those who have purchased new...

OK, Do you know if the front and rear bearings are the same on the TD5?

I need to change the front off side wheel bearings on my 2003 90 TD5. I want to avoid Britpart, so can anyone point me in the direction of a complete (non-britpart) kit as most online companies only seem to be selling the individual wheel bearings or a Britpart Kit. Thanks.
