Freelander 1 Bottom engine tie bar.

Cheers Nodge. Rather than post a new thread, can I ask some more advice? I replaced the front wishbones today. With the car back on the ground it was easy to torque the rear bush nut to 140Nm, but with not much clearance below the car and no access to a pit, I struggled to get the leaverage to...

Freelander 1 Bottom engine tie bar.

Thanks for the info. Is it easy to replace the bushing, was thinking I'd have to buy the whole tie rod?

Freelander 1 Bottom engine tie bar.

Hi. How much play is too much in the bottom engine tie bar? With the undertray removed, I can rock the engine quite easily by hand. I assume that this is too much play? If so, anyone know the best place to get one? Cheers.

    Hill decent switch

Used it many times, usually with a trailer on, loaded with 700 to 800 kgs of olives, coming down a steep unmade track from our olive grove. Works a treat!

Freelander 1 Horn sounding when it wants.

Hoped I could get away with a generic 'electrics' question but didn't get away with it. Worth a try!

Freelander 1 Horn sounding when it wants.

Thanks for the advice. Had a look at the 'anything goes' section but not convinced I could get the answers I need there! My FL1 has developed a problem with the horn. While driving home, the horn began to sound constantly until I disconnected the switch. The next time I started the car, the horn...

    Freelander 1 Horn.

Hi all. This may be in breach of forum protocols but I have a question regarding the horn on my 2nd vehicle, a 25 year old Nissan Terrano. It's a simple electrics question but I don't want to post in case I'm barred for life from the forum!! Can I ask advice about this vehicle?

    Freelander 1 12s electrics.

Thanks td4van. I was busy typing my reply and didn't see your response. I'll order the part for the earlier caravan.

    Freelander 1 12s electrics.

I'm getting conflicting information. One supplier says he doesn't know what the difference is, one says the difference is the age of the Freelander and two suppliers say the difference is based on the age of the caravan. I'm now very confused!!

    Freelander 1 12s electrics.

I think I have found the answer. 50459 is for caravans up to 1999 and 50460 is for caravans after that. Can anyone tell me if I'm correct?

    Freelander 1 12s electrics.

Further to my previous post, I have decided to fit auxiliary 12s electrics rather than 13 pin. I have found two part numbers, STC50459 and STC50460 but the seller can't tell me the difference between them. Can anyone tell me which part I need? The car is a 2004 TD4 and the caravan is 1996. Cheers.

    Freelander 1 12S caravan eletrics.

Normal trailer plug is on RHS so I need to run it down the LHS. Looked again at the instructions and it will only go one way.

    Freelander 1 12S caravan eletrics.

The fitting instructions show the 12s loom running down the passenger/left hand side of a RHD car. Will I need to reverse that and run the loom down the right hand side of a LHD car?

    Freelander 1 12S caravan eletrics.

Caravan already has fog lights on both sides. I also tow a trailer with single black electrics so thought it might be easier to just fit the grey 12S so I can tow either caravan or trailer. It appears that the fun is about to start. Because the caravan is old, 1996, it did not need European type...

    Freelander 1 12S caravan eletrics.

Car is Spanish, caravan is English, arriving in Spain tomorrow. It already has the black and grey plugs on it and I have fitted reversing lights in preparation for the Spanish MOT. To change to 13 pin, is it a question of combining the black and grey cables into one 13 pin plug?
