Guy - Those symptoms you give were what mine was doing also. A friend had the engine off me and has since stripped it. It was the head gasket blown resulting in a cracked head due to the overheating.

I guess you'll need a new one :(

In all honesty if it has broken the clearcoat then unless you are fairly good with paint yourself then it'll be a smart repairer or a body shop job ;)
