i have an auto without difflock. TC works well but tyres are the most important thing. when the wife allows, i'll get a set of BF AT's and a difflock lit from Ashcroft (TC will get me across very muddy field with road tyres on)
have pluged the disco in to a nanacom unit and that says its in low when the lever is in high. is it just a case of swaping some wires around so that the throttle is using the correct ECU map?
"low box to go up steep hills". somethings not right with the fueling or turbo. I live on a 1 in 7 hill and have only had to use low box to tow a 7.5T truck up it. I have a Nanocom, and i'm based just out side Matlock, derbys if thats any use
had this with mine. started with trying to start it first thing in the morning. Nothing when key was turned. after several attempts it would fire in to life. after a while it wouldnt start at all. turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator leaking fuel onto the starter motor and killing it
Will this upset the ECU? when you refer to the actuator pie, which bit is it?! all i fitted was a plate that blocked the supply pipe from the mainifold (kit off ebay)
Last night I had my nearside wheels in mud and my offsides on a solid surface (on a slight down hill slope) . I went to reverse uphill and I could hear the TC engaging but the Disco wouldnt move. Should this of happened? thought TC was supposed to transfer the power to the wheels with...
check the wires leading to the airflow meter, as they pass over the air con pump. they can wear through. if thats ok check the fuse box in the engine bay (think its the 2nd fuse up on the right hand side)
high pitched whine is normally the fuel pump on its way out. to purge the system turn on the ignition and pump the accel peddal 5 times. the engine management light will start flashing. lt can take a few mins to purge any air out of the system
Yeah, its where the fuel fiter is. how much is coming out? mine has leaked for over a year now (leaving small stains on the drive!). I've changed the filter twice and the water seonsor/o-rings but it still leaks!
I puchased a Nanocom unit, pluged it in and the air flow meter isnt showing any values, so looks like a new one is needed. it also showed that there is an EGR vacuum solenoid short circuit. The EGR is blanked off so should I worry about this?
My TD5 has developed a drink problem and loss of perfomance. I'm thinking it might be the MAF sensor (revs fade and then increase while cruising). I've disconnected the MAF and taken it for a drive and it made no difference to the running of the engine. Should unplugging the MAF make a noticable...
