Get it done properly with a replacement chip or flash upgrade. Had mine done by J Fearn. Makes a massive difference in everyday drivability. you will also find that the auto, once the t/converter is locked in over 55mph, unless you really hit the deck with the right foot will stay locked giving...

Not realy noticed and diff in performance or economy after doing mine. I've also left the wires attached to the control unit. Not sure if they or the vacume pipe needs disconnecting

what about low fuel pressure? did appear to be a bit gutless on high revs (see other post about air in fuel!)

After looking at the engine while the wife brought the revs up, i'm sure it a misfire or something like that by the way that the engine "shuddered" between 2300 and 2500 rpm. Could it be caused by a turbo boost problem?

I've put a new fuel filter on my td5 and gone through the fuel purge process 8 times and it still sounds like i've got air going through and the pump sounds very gurgly to start off with then calms down half way through the process. is this normal??!

Thats about what i get doing short trips to and from work in my auto(about 6 miles each way, up and down hills). On the motorway i can get 500 miles to a tank

Managed to get it off! had to use bar on crank bolt. The rubber on the outer part looks shot. cant really see anything on the belt part Do I have to put the 3 bolts back before stating it up? (dont have any washers to pack them out with)

Tried undoing but just turned engine over. managed to borrow a 24mm socket off a mate, so will have a go tomorrow night
