You can remove the EGR on an Auto with no problems. On mine I remove the cover over the compressor, undo what bolts I can and just swivel it out of the way and you can just get the glow plug out with all the pipework undisturbed. The belt on mine has been removed as the compressor is seized.

I could feel some play in mine and the squeal has gone :D

Just replaced the bearing in the belt tensioner as it was squealing away despite being a Dayco part that’s only 2 years old. The new bearing required is a 6203RS got mine off ebay for £1.40 inc delivery...

I wired the bulb on mine across to the oil pressure bulb so it goes out with that, passed the MOT no problem as it came on and went off.

You can get away with a 2" lift and do nothing else. Mines been like it for almost 3 years now. I did recently fit extended bump stops as I got a set very cheap. I do have a set of extended brake hoses to fit one day when i get time. It wont give you much improvement other than nice new...

There are no sensors involved on the exhaust, its a straight swap. It took me a while to figure out that you have to jack the chassis up at the front to make space to twist the new down pipe into place. I used a bottle jack and a bit of 4"x4" fence post. Heres a simple EGR blanking plate EGR...
