    If you decide on a new pump I bought 2 recently from island4x4 the allmakes one for just over a tenner and the Delphi one at almost twice the price and they are identical down to casting marks on them.

    As James Martin said on the thread above in the link "There just std bihex sockets, were more common years ago ,1/2 inch is better for caliper bolts as its slightly tighter fit and caliper bolts are often corroded slightly smaller" I got mine off Ebay

    Here is a quick guide of how i did mine, Hand brake is on the propshaft, so make sure you engage diff-lock before jacking the vehicle up and chock the front wheels http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/new-rear-brakes-mot-193151.html .

    you are trying to undo it the right way I hope, remember its a left hand thread and you need to go anti-clockwise. I normally put the spanner on and give it a gentle whack with a mallet and off it comes

    My Disco had a suspected head problem as it smoked like mad with a misfire when restarting a hot engine. I replaced the gasket thought it was fixed but NO! Here again is the video Disco - YouTube Then I was told it was the injection pump being knackered after running on bio for 30k...

    Some will say don't touch them as they will no doubt be Britpart! I fitted a pair to mine 2 years ago and they have been fine, I actually checked them last week as the pads are now getting thin but they have worn nice and even. So I am happy :D

    Well she starts ok when cold, when hot its like this :confused: Disco - YouTube It runs like this for a few mins, then clears and drives ok? The smoke stinks of un-burnt diesel, its really doing my head in!!! Looks like I will have to book it in to a diesel specialist to sort it:(

    Spent the morning tracing the problem and found a bodged wire that had completely broken in two it was hidden under the fuse box in the engine bay. Starts on the button now :D Its not done that for a long time.

    Hi Discool yes its a 300tdi :) I am trying to work from this diagram, electrics are not my strong point, hammer and welder are my strong ones ;)

    I think I have found my starting problem its the glow plugs. I removed them and tested each one and they work perfectly glowing nicely in about 5 seconds. I then refitted them and put a meter on them and nothing?? Tested the supply wire and its giving only 3.9v for about 8 seconds then...
