Have a couple of worn bushes on the back end, was thinking of fitting poly bushes. Only because they look easier to get back in with out a big press. Would the insurance company consider this to be another modification? The can does need bushes to work properly, does it matter that they are...

Fitted a starter solenoid refurb kit from ebay......so far so good. Changed the Crank Position Sensor. Now pulls like a train. If we carry on sorting issues at this rate, I might even get some laning in this winter. :D

Hello guys, After fixing the Crank sensor, the old hippo seems to be short on power up to about 2250 rpm, after 2500 it pulls like a train. There not really much hesitation pulling out of junctions. My street is on a hill, when I pull out the drive way, the car seems to be coasting...

I assume that is what it is, just above starter bolt and next to gearbox bolt. Thanks everyone for you help and advice, and reading my frustrated rants! :o

Problem Solved : Crank Sensor changed, now revs over 3000 rpm :)

Part changed, the issue has gone away, can now rev above 3,000 rpm :)

All done. Starter sorted, been started about 6 time and worked everytime. £10 solenoid kit off ebay. Crank Sensor changed, now revs above 3000 and no juddering going up hills :) Happy Days!!! :D

I regret trying to work on it. Something as simple as a starter motor removal is a bitch of a job. Never let the Germans design anything ever again, and don't let scousers build it! :D

1/4 inch of crap on the inside of the egr......yuck.....its permanently closed though :)

infront of the one that I got out is a hole almost big enough to get my finger (lift eye of some kind?) Can't see nothing for all the pipes and things... Is it further forward than that? Is that a gearbox to engine mount bolt? Or have a screwed something else?

..other starter motor bolt? (td4 auto 2001) Trying to get the start of this stupid german engine. Have the cables disconnected and the front bolt out. Found a bolt on top of the gearbox, as per other freds. (see photo 1) Removed the bolt, it does not look like the starter...

Just looked at the bottle, its actually Saka. Chosen because it comes in a 5 litre bottle. Was looking for something Swedish to pick up, but the other half would not have approved.:D

I have a metal pipe up the back of the engine, above the IRD, looks like it should be attached somewhere, looks like it had a broken end. No idea what that is.....best leave it alone :)

Have noticed, on top of my other issues, that my power loss issue is worse when the weather is warm. Like today. 45mph on the Motorway, 0-45 in 10 mins. Wasn't popular!! :cool: On the say home, engine had more power and was happy tramming along at 70mph. Temp outside had dropped a bit...
