Defender 110 abused by a Pinzgauer in a Crash

I’ve just come back from a full weekend of laning that nearly started in utter disaster. If you’ve seen the recent video of my vinyl wrapped Defender 110 you will know I’ve put a lot of work into it. Vinyl Wrapping a Customised Land Rover Defender 110 in Matt Black Air Release Vinyl -...

    Video Cameras for Off-Roading

I keep getting asked how I film my green lane videos so maybe this will be of interest to people. I do a few product reviews every now and again and I wrote this one recently having been given a Drift Ghost HD camera to try out. I have to say that having just used it on a full weekend’s...

Whilst I appreciate the effort in introducing the comedy element to my video's .... ;) Maybe next time you can aim for someone else and I can film it from the distance?!?! :)

Attempted Murder of Cameraman - Oldham Green Laning

Thanks a lot mate. Weather really was horrible. I threw so much footage away that could have been good because the lenses were covered in rain!

I think it might just be a mag mount aerial

Attempted Murder of Cameraman - Oldham Green Laning

Yeah we have all had a look about for stuff that might not cost a fortune to help him do more but we are struggling a bit. He's laning on a budget basically. Selectable 4WD and locking hubs I think!

Attempted Murder of Cameraman - Oldham Green Laning

Your bang on mate. We were dead surprised. Some MT's on order I think! Clearance might let him down at some point but time will tell. That lightweight is brill. I wanted to buy one when I saw that until I realised its a real cut and shut job and is a lightweight body on rangey running gear...

Attempted Murder of Cameraman - Oldham Green Laning

One of my mates is an Oldham local and sorted a laning day out taking in Oldham, Mossley, Stalybridge, Greenfield, Saddleworth, Scholes and finally Holmfirth. I’m always surprised about the quality of some of the lanes in that area. The weather was a nightmare and didn’t help me filming the...

Land Rovers Rock climbing up the Pheasant Steps & Recovery Home

It was a weird one for me because that truck is very well maintained and was MOT'd the day before by a bloke I know who is into his Land Rovers. The bush that was in it was a rubber bush that was a week old and it just failed! Stuck a poly bush back in and that should be fine forever, or as near...

Vinyl Wrapping a Defender in Matt Black

Thats interesting mate. What quality of vinyl and has it had much use? I'm loving the colour having lived with it now for a few weeks. Just wondering how it will handle the thorny lanes I like!

;) There's the difference then. Bit o rain wouldn't have worried us! Jimnys are fairly capable. I've towed a lot of them out of the mud! :D

Vinyl Wrapping a Defender in Matt Black

I put my car on display at this festival today and the guys who wrapped mine came to see it so I asked them what it would have cost me. They said it would be closer to a grand depending on how much prep you can do yourself. Its only more if they have to strip off loads of bits.

Vinyl Wrapping a Defender in Matt Black

lol. When mines torn too bits on the lanes I'll be round to you for sure. If that's an amateur job your doing very well. Looks top!

Vinyl Wrapping a Defender in Matt Black

Oh yeah, has a limited life of 5 years but then I cant see an amateur paint job lasting far beyond that! As you say, maybe more worth while on a newer motor or something that is already tidy and could be protected.

Vinyl Wrapping a Defender in Matt Black

Possibly but if you change a colour via painting you have to register it on your log book. If you want to go back to original the vinyl will heat and pull off and the claim is that it will protect, which I've yet to test. Also matt black is a mare to clean off isn't it in paint form. This is...

Vinyl Wrapping a Defender in Matt Black

Believe it or not curves make it easy. Its the right angles that you cant bend the vinyl around neatly.
