Driving around Europe - requirements and considerations

Eeek, I'll definitely check that, as one of the possible routes will be via Denmark.

Driving around Europe - requirements and considerations

Yes yes yes, I know there's a bunch of other threads on this subject, but I can't seem to find all the bits of info I need, or definitive facts rather than opinions, in one place. I'm doing a bit of a tour around Europe next year, leaving the UK and visiting my remote colleagues. I quite fancy...

    Recurring indicator relay death

A more information of looking for how water got in, as yielded no clues. I'm tempted to reposition the relay for now and solve the mystery leak later.

    Recurring indicator relay death

After some shallow wading this weekend, my super reliable new relay failed on me. I couldn't believe it, I've not had a problem for months! I opened up the fuse cover and pulled out the relay to inspect it, and discovered it was soaking wet! Could this have been the problem all along, water...

    Electrics this time!!

Right that pretty much says it's the direct feed between the switch and the light then. You'll need to replace it.

    Electrics this time!!

Absolutely that will work, I think someone suggested that earlier.

    Electrics this time!!

I had so many problems like this when I first got my old 90. Something I would also try, is to eliminate it being anything to do with any of the other lights, looms, earths, etc. around the vehicle. disconnect them all, not just the indicators. Start back at zero basically, and connect the...

    Single LED power consumption

Yep, this is what I've done too, signal feed from head unit to a relay in the back that has a live feed direct from the battery. The only downside now is that I can't use the sockets in the back unless I have the head unit on, and I mean really on, not just power to it from ignition...

    Camper Extension

I've had a look, the company is called Alu-Cab, if they did make it, doesn't look like they do now. I'll contact them just in case though.

    Camper Extension

    Ah right, cheers

    Camper Extension

Is that not just a roof thinggy? I'm after the "out the back" extension, not a roof extension.

    Camper Extension

That's my fear - looks pretty complicated to make myself!

    Camper Extension

Has anyone ever seen one of these anywhere before: It's exactly what I'm after, but this image of one is the only thing I can find.

    Rear wing, wheel arch modification

I've never taken a wing off no, but, I need to replace all of the capping parts anyway, they're riddled with holes, leaks, rust, etc. Also, my roof is in a bad way, the 14 previous owners have drilled about 500 various holes in it along the way, and it's a total mess, so I figured, I might as...

    Rear wing, wheel arch modification

Aha Yes that's it! Here's some pictures.... Good Side: Bad Side: You can probably tell why I'm going to be replacing the wing on the bad side.

    Rear wing, wheel arch modification

Bit of a weird one... When I got my landy, it came with a host of off roading modifications, (and a host of problems due to constant off-road usage.) One of the mods was the rear wings had been cut out at the back of the arch to raise up the "tail" profile, i.e there's almost no arch or wing...

    Hawk central locking fob

It's doing my head in - it's so damn sensitive, I pretty much just have to think about it, and it will unlock my 90! Basically, it keeps pressing in my pocket, or when I put it in my pocket, or when I take it out of my pocket, or when I walk, or sit down, or stand up, or fart. Does anyone...

    Recurring indicator relay death

I think even with the Wipac LED relays though, if you twiddle the knob to the right place, you'll get the trailer light only flash once when you turn the indicators on (I understand this is completely avoided with the RDX one which is better) and if you've got a trailer attached, the trailer...

    Recurring indicator relay death

Ok, so this has been useful thanks everyone. I reckon then, it could well be a combo of 3 things: Poor capabilities from the Wipac Relay (apparently only supports 40 watts total), the buzzer being involved, and having a mixture of indicator types, as the wing-indicators are still normal bulbs...

    Recurring indicator relay death

Hi all, A couple of months ago, the indicator relay died on me, while I was 500 miles from home. Here's the thread at the time, including my amusing "fix" to get us home at the time... https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/indicators-dead.322603 After that, I decided to always carry a spare...
