    snorkel question

I have just bought a new snorkel off ebay. It's the one with the mushroom top, all metal apart from a rubber flexi pipe joining the upper and lower section. Apparently they are designed to fit into the side air vents on your wing. (mine goes on the passenger side by the way) anyway, the problem...

    200tdi exhaust box question.

Well at least I know I've put it on right! When you say chop it out, do you mean literally cut the box off, and weld in a piece of straight pipe? I have already done away with the center silencer box, and bought one of those stainless straight runs thats supposed to give you more fuel economy...

    200tdi exhaust box question.

Yes thats right for the first two bits! Maybe you didnt have the tow bar rails in the way then? I'll have to have another look at it see if I can alter it. It'll only be a question of undoing a few bolts, and putting more fire gu on the joints again.

    200tdi exhaust box question.

The first bit sounds identical to mine. I have a 90 by the way. I cant raise it above the axle, because I have two bars coming out at an angle which hold the tow bar to the chassis rails. Even if I haddent, I may of got it up a tad more, but i'm governed as to where the brackets are positioned...

    200tdi exhaust box question.

the way the box is designed, plus where it bolts onto, there is no way I could have done it any other way! my back box is the one where the tail pipe comes out the side, but the clamp for the middle section joint is sort of side on. Hope you know what I mean. Hang o I'll try and put a pic, or a...

probs with winch grade split charger

It used to 'clack' when I first had it like you said, but not anymore. My landy has been standing unused for a few months while I've replaced the engine and restored it. So maybe it's siezed? And I think the manual link button does work when pressed.

    200tdi exhaust box question.

As some of you know I've just taken out a V8, and put in a 200tdi, and I also put in a proper full 200tdi exhaust system. (everything runs well and great since the conversion by the way) The only thing I dont like is the back box on the 200tdi exhaust hangs down quite low. Has anyone else who...

probs with winch grade split charger

No I'm not a heavy winch user, it's all just belt and braces stuff really. I'd rather have the extra power and not need it, than need it and not have it. Besides, I use my light bar with 4 lamps, plus two driving lamps I've also wired in, plus the ordinary lights on a dark green lane. I just...

probs with winch grade split charger

I recently installed a T-Max split charge relay for my twin batts as I have a winch. Anyway it seemed to be working ok when I had the V8 in, but since I installed the 200tdi I've been having probs with it. then that could be a coincidence? The problem is my batterys were always going flat...

    disco 200tdi thermostat

I've just done a 200tdi disco engine conversion in my 87 defender. I thought I may as well put a new thermostat in as I dont know the history of the old one. Does anyone have any idea where it's located? and how I fit it? i.e. do I have to take anything apart first to get to it? And can I do...

    Fuel solenoid

well, to update, I solted out all the little niggles, and disconnected the solenoid briefly to turn it over so everthing primes, (I just connected that to any old wire that was live when the ignition was) then thought I'd try it, and it fired up and ran lovely first time! And I haven't even got...

    Oil Cooler Pipes etc.

I didnt think it could just be me! Thanks for sharing your troubles too. Why oh why do they have to make such small unessasary changes to things?? if something works, then why not leave it as it is? it would be so much easier for us sorcing parts. It's not like they are updating the shape of the...

    Oil Cooler Pipes etc.

Well that explains it. Thank you. Whats annoying is that they are the pipes I just sent back cos they didn't fit my early housing then! Think my best and cheapest option now is to get the original ones lengthened by pertek. Will save me much hassle. So obviously I also know I've got an early...

    Oil Cooler Pipes etc.

And did your pipes fit the disco oil filter housing? Am I the only person to have done this conversion have this problem?? then you said you got yours from 'craddocks' and not 'paddocks'. Thats confusing in it's own right! Intresting about the MOD online store though, do you have the...

    Oil Cooler Pipes etc.

You were lucky. Cant understand why the td pipes I bought from 'paddocks' didn't fit?? There must have been variations in the oil filter housings over the years.

    Oil Cooler Pipes etc.

The disco pipes were to short, and as I said one got damaged in transit when engine delivered too me, but Yeah, have ordered one new disco pipe to replace damaged one, and will now get both altered by 'pertek'. :(

    Oil Cooler Pipes etc.

Can anyone settle this for me once and for all, as I'm getting very frustrated and annoyed with 'Paddocks' now! My problem is as some of you may know, I'm doing a discovery engine conversion into my 87 defender. I have completed the conversion now apart from fitting the exhaust,(exhust part is...
