disco 200tdi thermostat

I've just done a 200tdi disco engine conversion in my 87 defender. I thought I may as well put a new thermostat in as I dont know the history of the old one. Does anyone have any idea where it's located? and how I fit it? i.e. do I have to take anything apart first to get to it? And can I do this without draining the water out of the engine again?
Any help much appreciated!

Where your temperature sender unit is, simply take off the 3 M6 bolts http://www.fag.hiof.no/~frodehaa/pics/thermostat housing.JPG and the thermostat is in there

I use Hylomar sealant to seal it again, as well as making a gasket, just to be sure

No problem Glad to help, when you take the 3 bolts out, a bit of coolant will spill out, just try and catch it in a bucket if possible
