Leyland Daf 45/150 Horsebox for sale

Built for us in 2003 on a carefully chosen 1992 chassis, 7.5 tonnes down rated from 10.5 tonnes. Stalled for three, light airy horse area, spacious living. Six litre Cummins diesel ( faster than my Defender....). Easy to drive, plated until October . Not perfect cosmetically but well looked...

Anyone know where to get seat belt bolts from?

Try a seat belt manufacturer, Securon are near me and are very good, their customer service desk was very helpful when I put some seat belts in my horse box and helped me source the right gear. They have a website but it's fairly basic so just use it to get the phone number. Hope it helps

    Need help fitting accessories...

The garage I had in mind if you want to watch someone else do it and build your confidence a bit is Harris Mayes in Rickmansworth - they are nice guys and have got me out of a spot on more than one occasion, and I reckon are about half an hour from you. Their number is 01923 711800 ( I know...

    Need help fitting accessories...

Had you thought of building your confidence and getting a better idea of the tools you might need by taking the Defender to a LR independent garage and asking to watch them do the jobs ? Ealing isn't too far from the garage I use in SW Herts and they are excellent, let me know if you want the...

    Restorer needed

If you are in North London you could try Harris Mayes in Rickmansworth, they looked after my series 3 and both Range Rovers when I had them and still look after my Defender so I've been using them for over 10 years. Peter Harris Mayes is the owner and has always been dead straight with me so...

    L/R Dormobile Insurance?

Have a look at classic camper insurance via the owners clubs for classic campers/motorcaravans - you should be able to save the membership fee off the premium. I`d be willing to bet that Dormobile has its own club across the many platforms they converted/built on

    Will a Sankey trailer fit a P38?.........

I had a Sankey which had been modified to run a standard ball hitch before I got it, and I ran it with an LSE and a 109, each with an adjustable tow hitch drop plate. It worked fine. However - Sankey`s weigh a lot and can be tricky to move by hand if you need to, unless you need something that...

hey folks think Ive been had help!!

I`m assuming you bought your car in Scotland ? Scots law governs the sale, not English law. You need to make sure you have copies of the seller`s adverts ( for the car and the separate parts), and make sure you have copies of any emials or the like. Finally you should write down, with dates, what...

    Key Fob Battery Change Question

If they are OEM there should be a short section in the handbook telling you how to re-synch the fob to the transponder - its usually holding down the lock button or pressing the lock button several times whilst close to the transponder (it was on my LSE and Defender, both with OEM fobs) or...

    Rustproofing in / around London?

A bit further out - Kleentect always used to be the guys with a good reputation, they were at Greenham Common I think but have a website so should be find-able fairly easily

deciphering a vehicle history card on a Series 3 Lightweight

Try the Ex Military Land Rover Association or whoever is now holding the archive of the Museum of Army Transport (used to be in Beverley in East Yorkshire but I heard it had had shut due to budget cutbacks). I got the full arny service record for my series from the Museum but via the EMLRA so...

    Grab Bag?

Try John Norris of Penrith - they do game bags and fishing bags and are usually good value, one of the benefits of kit like that is that it usually has a waterproof inner liner.

    G.E.A.R seat covers

Try UK Covers for seat covers - they come up on google. I have some of their Defender covers on the front seats and they are fine, and about a third the cost of LR originals, not quite as good a fit but for the money I think they do just fine

Selling my disco for a fourtrak

Definitely rust is the issue, the engine is pretty bullet proof. I did hear that Daihatsu might be pulling out of the UK market because of low volumes so I can see spares having to go completely independent, might not be such an issue because the Fourtrak hasn`t been imported new for a while anyway

    Horsebox

Forgot to mention - try the for sale section of the Pony Club website as well, you can narrow your search to the branches nearest you if that helps. Unless its a hunting box you are after this is not a great time of the year to be buying - everyone wants one for the Summer and no-one wants to...

    Any Locksmith types about?

Try a Lexus independent rather than a main dealer ? Any Lexus forums ? You might also find the US is a good source of Lexus info and parts - even with airfreight they are way ahead of UK in keeping older Lexuses running simply because they have been doing it for longer

    Mrh in hertford

If you want a choice try Harris Mayes in Rickmansworth ( 01923 711800 I think) - they looked after my LSE and still look after my Defender, and they do courtesy cars. They are reasonably easy to get to from J17/18 m25. Peter Harris Mayes has been in business for years, dead straight and easy to...
