    bucket and centre seats

There was a thread on here where somebody had fitted Range Rover rear bench seats in the front - required a bit of a mod to the wheel arches, I think. Often available quite cheap & in fair condition, as they don't get the wear of the front. Otherwise, why not have your existing seats...

New Land Rover Defender Coming With Five Bodystyles !!

With the way modern tractors are going, it wouldn't surprise me if someone like John Deere offered a rugged, go-anywhere truck - it might even be classed as a tractor, which raises some interesting questions!

    Severn Bridge Toll

Coin bins went some time ago - caused too much trouble I suspect. I never used them, even if I had the right change, as too often somebody would mess up and cause a tailback. You can now pay by card, which helps.

    Severn Bridge Toll

Went over it a few weeks ago - still £1, now coin operated, so make sure you have change.

    windscreen wash

Never understood buying ready mixed. You're paying for water, which is readily available free from the tap. Also the extra bulk to store. Buy concentrated and you can store a small bottle in the toolkit to top up if you need it.

    Nakatanenga Tailgate Organizer

Looks quite well done - and so it should at that price! My concern would be that it appears to be liable to reduce the size of the rear opening, which could be a pain when loading large objects. If it lifted off that would be OK, or, even better, if the individual pockets could be lifted off...

    Hankook Car Battery

Made in Korea by AtlasBX, who have been bought by Hankook. As usual, some people get a short life, but most reports are good. At that price it doesn't have to last for ever to be a good deal!

    No. plate cut off date

I think the gov have, as so often, got themselves in a mess trying to reconcile 2 contradictory bits of legislation. Reminds me of when Reliants had to have reverse gear blanked off in order to be able to drive them on a bike licence (coz bikes don't have reverse). Then there started to be...

    Advice on selling a 110

Now there's an optimist! Personally I think the brown and limestone looks really good.

    An interesting V8 110 CSW?

I wonder what the reserve is. With a new chassis needed in a couple of years, a respray, and whatever other bits undoubtedly need doing, it is going to cost quite a bit more than the cover price. If you go and look at the two-tone Bluedog, and don't buy it, perhaps you could report back on what...

    An interesting V8 110 CSW?

Like this one, for instance? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUPERB-ORIGINAL-V-EARLY-1983-DEFENDER-110-V8-CSW-12-SEATER-LONG-MOT-WARRTY-/221894284471?hash=item33a9ee14b7

Looks nice, except for being a bit short in the body!

    An interesting V8 110 CSW?

This offering is looking interesting to me: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271998048412?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I had been thinking of a 300tdi, but all the fuss about diesels is making me think again about petrol. I know they are thirsty, but I do love the sound of...

    24v winch on a 12v landy?

Interesting point from Terr - why not hook it up to a test 12v supply and see what happens - I can't see it doing any harm, and it might just work fine.

    Stuck viscous fan removal

I guess the other consideration is that a viscous fails in the "on" mode - so may be working unnecessarily, but at least its working.

    24v winch on a 12v landy?

Why not do it the other way round? Use a cheaper, lower power, 12 to 24 converter to charge a decent sized 24v battery, which powers your winch? Or maybe you can fit a 24v alternator alongside your 12v - no converting, just use it to charge a 24v battery, which can run your winch and any other...

    Defender 90 as Campervan

You may find the sander is made by Einhell. I have several of their tools, under their own and other names, and have found them pretty good.

    Stuck viscous fan removal

And having finally got it off, the question is - replace it or go electric?

    Axle rebuild...

Having a manual is good. Having 2 different manuals/parts list/diagrams is better. Even so, some things will not be clear. With a digital camera you can take loads and loads of photos as you disassemble, giving you a better chance of getting everything together easily. Oh, and try to put bits...

    Defender v8 worth fixing?

LEZ is for commercial vehicles - though even many Station Wagons are registered as commercial! Personally, I love the V8 - have had 4 vehicles with one in. Definitely heavy on the fuel, but you could always go LPG if that is an issue.
