There was a thread on here where somebody had fitted Range Rover rear bench seats in the front - required a bit of a mod to the wheel arches, I think. Often available quite cheap & in fair condition, as they don't get the wear of the front. Otherwise, why not have your existing seats...

With the way modern tractors are going, it wouldn't surprise me if someone like John Deere offered a rugged, go-anywhere truck - it might even be classed as a tractor, which raises some interesting questions!

Coin bins went some time ago - caused too much trouble I suspect. I never used them, even if I had the right change, as too often somebody would mess up and cause a tailback. You can now pay by card, which helps.

Never understood buying ready mixed. You're paying for water, which is readily available free from the tap. Also the extra bulk to store. Buy concentrated and you can store a small bottle in the toolkit to top up if you need it.

Looks quite well done - and so it should at that price! My concern would be that it appears to be liable to reduce the size of the rear opening, which could be a pain when loading large objects. If it lifted off that would be OK, or, even better, if the individual pockets could be lifted off...

Interesting point from Terr - why not hook it up to a test 12v supply and see what happens - I can't see it doing any harm, and it might just work fine.

I guess the other consideration is that a viscous fails in the "on" mode - so may be working unnecessarily, but at least its working.

Why not do it the other way round? Use a cheaper, lower power, 12 to 24 converter to charge a decent sized 24v battery, which powers your winch? Or maybe you can fit a 24v alternator alongside your 12v - no converting, just use it to charge a 24v battery, which can run your winch and any other...

You may find the sander is made by Einhell. I have several of their tools, under their own and other names, and have found them pretty good.

Having a manual is good. Having 2 different manuals/parts list/diagrams is better. Even so, some things will not be clear. With a digital camera you can take loads and loads of photos as you disassemble, giving you a better chance of getting everything together easily. Oh, and try to put bits...

LEZ is for commercial vehicles - though even many Station Wagons are registered as commercial! Personally, I love the V8 - have had 4 vehicles with one in. Definitely heavy on the fuel, but you could always go LPG if that is an issue.
