    I got a neat little Pure DAB radio. Fitted straight into D2 plugs and just added a dab aierial that sticks on inside of windscreen. Links to iPhone for calls and Bluetooth + aux in and Ian for MP3. Fitted myself for less than £110 all in.

    Good job Gary. When I changed the heater elements in my seats I gave up trying to re-use the metal clips that hold the covers to the wires in the foam. Used some tiny zip ties but it is still a fiddly job. Glad to see the effort was worth it with your seat conversion. No pain no gain as they say!

    You can sell those leather covers on, Loads of cars with tears or worn looking finish out there.

    What one do you own

    After a 3.5 year apprenticeship on my TD5 I now feel I'm ready to step up to a D3. Currently looking around for a suitable SE or HSE at the right money.

    Disco 2 Aww bugger. Leaky sunroof.

    When I had a wet roof lining I found it wasn't the sun roof but the roof bars that were letting in water. Took everything off and sealed with silicone and all has been fine since. Getting roof lining out is not too difficult, just take your time to locate all the fixings.

    It is nothing seriously amiss but especially when towing I feel a bit disconnected from the front wheels. Thanks chaps. I'll get my garage to check it all over next time it's with them.

    I wouldn't go as far as sloppy but thinking about it there is a small amount of steering wheel movement before the wheels turn, always been there and has passed 3 MOT's in my ownership.

    I drove a D3 at the weekend and whilst it was better than my D2 in so many ways, the most disappointing thing I noticed on returning to the D2 was the vagueness of the steering in comparison. I know the steering box is an older tech system but can it be improved?

    Mine sometimes refuses to close, no rhyme or reason to it. Have changed the plastic clip to no avail. If it plays up I have to poke a very slim twig through the gap round the flap to push and hold the clip down and closing the flap.

    I am going to have to tackle this job sooner rather than later as my reversing sensors and light only work now when the engine has warmed up. Can you give me a bit more info on what I'll see when tackling this job please jamesmartin?

    You need a big Torx bit to undo the bolts and one of them will just spin because it goes all the way through the floor with a nut on the end that needs to be held with a spanner.

    HD springs, dimensions seem the same. I couldn't drop the axles enough to get the originals out. I assume having ACE makes it harder and I didn't want to get into stripping brake scalpers off Tec so went down the compressor route.

    Screwfix spring clamps are very good. Getting my new HD springs small enough to fit the car is hard work though!
