:) we get this every year once the weather get cold . It was 5 years till I found out I had a FBH fitted to my TD4 . There will be an exhaust pipe sticking out of the bumper on the passenger side , FBH works when temp is below 5 degs .

I think the forum consensus is leave alone if working fine , With a half fluid change at the 60k service interval using the correct ATF 402 !

My original battery lasted 9 years , I then brought a Halfords own brand 096 battery with 4 year guarantee , This died at just over 3 years but Halfords checked it and gave me a new one , This one is 2 years old now ! Halfords have battery deals at the moment with £12 off on the 096 battery...

It's normally the front one that go's so I had just the front one replaced the others are still good .

Looking at your picture it looks like its near the back of engine , Could it be from the power steering rack on bulkhead ?

2 plastic trims inside with 6 T25 torxs screws to remove glass pane , I cleaned the rust off then re-painted , Cleaned the seal and used silicon greased on it and so for it's not leaked !

Yes it is an easy diy job . I got a genuine LR one & new cap from the local dealer as some of the cheaper tanks ( ebay ) don't last ! If I remember you pull of the small top return pipe , Then with pliers nip the clip in and remove bottom hose ( catching the small bit of coolant in a bowl ) ...

If you block the EGR exhaust then be careful as it normally burn a hole through again , Better to plug the vacuum hose to stop it opening !

My bell's vcu had a ball bearing blocking a hole on the side ?

I too had just 4 new tyres fitted and the spare is a 14 year old original Michelin 4X4 with 8mm of tread if that answers your question :) I also rotate tyres front to back when needed to keep them the same tread depth ;)

I changed mine @ 75,000 miles with a bells recon one , I had the old one tested when returned to bell's and it was starting to get stiffer ( but not that bad as in breaking transmission parts ) The steering is much lighter now on turns . BTW - @ 75,000 miles my prop bearings where getting...

Remember the L-series might be a good engine but it's in a 14 to 16 year old car body with all the age related problems ! Don't the pre 2000 models have more transmission problems too ?
