yep defo headgasket , most garages can do a sniff test of the water to detect exhaust gasses in the bubbles

been offerd a disco 200tdi with rotten rear body , so thinking about cutting down chassis and defender cab back maybe roof and pick'up body grafted on not beyond my welding / bodywork skills just wonderd how wide

check sediment bowl right hand side just infront of fuel tank , dont just remove drail bung , undo smll bolt on top anr pull off bowl and clean it out , refill with clean diesel and try it , may need to reblead at lift pump
