    when buying spare parts, steer clear of anything by BRITPART, seriously their stuff looks ok but will fail at the earliest opportunity. lol even the MOD wont fit their stuff + they do things cheaper than cheap. disclaimer ect..... personal oppinion....... blah blah -please dont sue me.

    lol well i know whats causing the problem whith my alarm but not sorted until i find a working replacement -think theres too much current flowing as its pretty burnt in there but the metal pins arent melted, just the plastic??!! the plug is just above the fuseboard (the 1 behind the gearstick)...

    they look like standard seats with posh trims on. in that case, remove the base, flip it over + peel the rubber retaining strip back, may be a string tied at the back -the cover will be stuck to the element which is stuck to the foam base -spray adhesive to refit. the seat backs are easy too...

    any pics of the seats m8? some1 might know the type of elements used by the model of the car they came from? the exmoor trim elements are waeco msh 50 retrimming the seats with some quality spray glue works a treat -thats how the factory do it.

    FOUND THE FECKKER!! that plugs in there pretty tight with no slack in the loom, burned bit was on the reverse side of the plug! pulled it off, pushed it back on a few mm so the pins just made contact + LIGHTS!! -no alarm too!! will look for a replacement on monday!! cheers for the help...

    could this issue (see link) cause a voltage drop (activating my alarm) -sounds pretty similar to the probs im having!? Land Rover UK Forums turns out his blue header had melted + allowed a flow when he turned his light switch on....

    lol even though my dad + brother are sparkies i dont own a multimeter -i do the hair standing on end, fingers tingling, smell of burning bacon test to find a live wire ;p i didnt see anything printed on it when i had it out?
