After checking out the food prices of the Golden Pot it has been decoded that it's too expensive for us. So we have decided to move the venue to the Poachers in South Warnborough. More details to follow.

I could get my TT250 into the back of my 109 pickup, but not a chance into a 110 with hardtop. I have a Dave Cooper bike carrier that bolts to the tow hitch. Works well but you do have to put the spare into the back of the 110.

I would have thought decent rubber fuel hose from any motor factor will do. From the tank to the pump it isn't high pressure or anything.

Be aware that this isn't necessarily true. If you have an aftermarket or replacement from original Radiator/oil cooler fitted that came with the threading as part of the rad, no adaptors fitted. I've had this with the 2 Disco conversions I have done. One day I will look up the parts...

It's £300 to £500 to get a 200tdi Disco. Rip out the engines. About £200 more for the extended oil and air and water pipes and for the conversion exhaust downpipe. For that you get a strong engine, a lot more power and more MPG. No brainer for me.

Yup you'd need a conversion downpipe. The standard downpipe from the Disco will not fit as it's too close to the bulkhead in the defender. As its a Disco 200Tdi the defender downpipe etc will not fit either. There are a couple of conversion downpipes available so it's easy to do if a tad...

Nope they are the same. They will both have a kick up on the left as you look out the front of the vehicle, for UK and RH kick for european roads.

Is there anyone coming along who wants any standard series steel 16" rims? All the tyres are useless. For some reason I keep collecting them. I also have some 16" 2 part split rims.

That made me smile as it's the sort of thing I would do, and possibly have done, but I'm owning up to nothin' :D

The wiring is 7 wires. The glow plug wire is the same and goes straight onto glow plug number 4 (nearest the bulkhead) without a timer relay. Just hold the ignition key for 5 to 10 seconds in the glow position like you do now. Or if it's a good 200Tdi then just turn it over and it will start...

I'd better bring a Landy then... I could walk and drink ;-)

One of the 4 UJ's on your 2 propshafts is most likely. Next time you drive it and park up, get underneath and feel how hot and loose each of them is. If any of them is hot to touch then it's knackered.
