    Heater

Checking for airlocks is the first thing to do as it dosn't involve spending money:).Another possibility is that the heater matrix is partially bocked or restricted so your not getting as much heat in the heaterbox to maintain constant warmth.

You all know the story but for Fecks sake!

Mine is a manual, the handbrakes on classics are very strong and even on mine you can't pull off when its on,mine sticks now and again but if you reverse it frees off no problems.

You all know the story but for Fecks sake!

Can't you try driving it like it is for a while and doing a few oil changes yourself in the meantime to see if it gets better, drop the oil when its hot (being carefull).for what it will cost it must be woth a go?

    Turbo Actuator - 200TDi

It was the main injection pump,I think if it was the lift pump you'd have intermitant loss of power, hard starting + cutting out rather than a constant loss.My mates would start + run 100% but was always down on power as if the turbo wasn't fully boosting.I can't see how the changing of the turbo...

    Turbo Actuator - 200TDi

My mate had a 200tdi disco which was noticably slower than my 200tdi classic which i put down to being different gearing,he wasn't convinced and started checking everything, filters, intercooler flushing, hoses and so on.He even connected a boost gauge to the turbo vac pipe tho check it was...

    mpg on p38 deisel

Interesting stuff,I'd expect the auto to use more fuel than the manual,I won't be towing + most of the time it will be on b roads rather than the motorway,I'm not expecting miracles due to the size or weight but i don't want to end up with somthing doing under 20mpg as i might as well look at...

    mpg on p38 deisel

I'd be interested to know what mpg people are getting from manual p38 deisels,I've been thinking of replacing my 200tdi which manages 28mpg with a p38 but was taliking to somebody the other day who says he's lucky to get 20mpg out of his.If this is the case it won't be any good for me as i do...

    v8's in disco's / p38's

Was just wondering really,is the v8 in the discovery 2 the same as the engine they call the 4.0 in the rangerover p38.I've read all kinds of horror storys regarding overheating + liners moving on the rangerovers and was wondering if the disco had the same problem or even the same engine?
