Was wondering if the sliding joint on front prop should be at the diff end (front) or transfer box end? Or dosn't it make a difference:confused:

Reading the owners manual the transmission temp sensor refers to automatic transmissions,it also says "the light will also illuminate when handbrake is not fully disengaged" which you can also rule out on yours as you've got a seperate light.I don't know what else to suggest as mines only got...

I see,on mine which is a 93 200tdi manual there is no handbrake warning light as such,it uses the transmission temp light as the handbrake light.are you saying yours has a separate handbrake light as well as a transmission temp light? has yours been converted from an auto to manaul?

It is a classic one,you've got to drill holes in the side shelf supports and bolt it in,similar type in mine only with detachable brackets

As far as i know theres only a transmission temp sensor fitted to automatics,maybe the lever is lifting slightly and putting the light on but not enough to put the parking brake on.

Sounds like the rear wheel bearing could have collapsed,I was driving mine for a while thinking it was a binding brake but soon found out otherwise.This can put the abs light on as the pick up ring is on the hub.If you do happen to find on yours that it is a sticking caliper and decide to repair...

Anyone know if its possible to swap the transfer box on 93 classic 200tdi manual from the viscous type to the manual diff lock type from a similar year discovery.I'm sure i've seen an early model classic somewhere with the manual difflock setup just like the disco's got?

My 200tdi manual returns about 28mpg which is good for general running about,the v8 is much nicer to drive but for the difference in running costs i'm happy with my tdi.

I don't think the heater matrix is a very nice job to do on a classic either.

Mines got 191k and is sweet as a nut,On the other hand I don't think theres much chance of coming across a low mileage tdi lump these days and if you do it won't be cheap.

I think you've answered your own question there,I had the same problem with a radiator sealer blocking a heater matrix myself,it was a vauxhall cavalier but the principle is the same.

Another option would be to try and find an external pump at a breakers,If you can source another make of vehicle which has a high enough pressure pump fitted
