oh bugger, thats a shame as i know everyone spoke highly of clives work!! does anyone know anywhere else i could get one made up in kit form like clives ones as i have a mate that does welding and could fit it.

these are the tyre sizes fitted ,,dont know if this helps, these were fitted when i bought it earlier this year. so have no way of telling what difference the origionals would have made. goodridge TA 265 70 16 with a diameter of 30.6 in. Dont know how much these differ from what would have...

sorry i got numbers wrong way round, reads 30 actual 26, reads 40 actual 36.. got me holiday head on.. ;)

My speedo still over reads by the usuall 10% accross the board so @ 30 reads 26 , at 40 it reads 36 and so on, so thats about right, but the odometer is way under, i presumed the accuracy of the speedo and odometer would be linked?

yes it has, and can expect some degree of error due to this but shorley the speedo would be way out as well. by my reconing the odometer is out by some 33%

i was always under the impression a rad muf was to stop the rad from iceing in extreem temps, not to make the engine run hotter, as you say thats what the thermostat is for. used to take an age to warm up but since fitting a new stat it warms up in the first 2 miles of driving and sits spot on...

i Have a 90 300TDI, recently fitted a new Rad, pump etc, it is up to running temp within 5 minutes of driving, and the heater works fine. would there still be any benefit to me fitting a rad muff..??

i have the same thing, judders for first 20 minutes of driving and also suspect oil on clutch, will be doing clutch and seal at some point but its not bad enough at the moment to worry,, unless of course it will cause damage to any other parts in the drive train.

i used "tiger seal" to stop the leak where the bulkhead meets the screen frame/ some stupid foam gasket . then found that the spongy seal between the rest of the lower body and top was leaking also. so did that as well. so far so good.. been raining heavily and no more wet carpets or floors...

also check the core plug on the front of the engine.. i didnt and after putting it all together found i still had a weap, and turned out the core plug had rotted through as well , probably from the leaking p gasket..
