Just an update for anyone who comes across this via a search: I took the brake light switch off and sprayed it liberally with WD40 It looked like it could be taken apart - there were some clips - but as I didn't know what springs would fly out or which clips I would break I just sprayed WD40...

Will have a look when I get a chance. Actually, I think I have a noise from both sides. It seems to becoming from outer edges of front (subjective I know). Will also have to investigate to see if I can feel any vibrations from gear stick.

Next question: Why would an inner joint only make noise on full lock? Something to do with it being more extended or retracted on full lock?

Ah! The brake lights work, so this means the switch is not the culprit for the TC and descent lights? Electrics sometime work in mysterious ways so this might not be such a stupid question as it seems. Then again it might :)

Apart from the annoyance is there any problem with these lights coming on? Will it bugger anything up if I dont change the brake light switch for a week or two?
