Yea mime has developed the same thing about a month ago rattle whilst hard accelerating from cold? Goes when you back off or when engine has warmed up? At the time I also had cooling problems so thought it might be the waterpump impeller braking up but the mechanic at work said its injector...

If its a diesel its probably injector rattle Does it sound like its a light knock or heavy

Yes same but number 4 has a lift sensor so for that one has to be a egr match Ie. if yours has egr the doner car must! same as if yours dosent have it the doner shouldent

Ohh and before you start messing with the height setting its good practice to make a note of the current settings cos its a complete headache to calibrate from scratch I learnt that one from experience

Sounds like 1 of the sensors is giving false feedback With diagnosis deflate all springs to bumpstops then "get hight readings" see if one is different from the rest

Yup alternator I would have droped my h/lights to sidelight not attempted the shut off restart and turn off all none essentials if id suspected it and it may well have seen you home But hindsight is a powerful thing

still worth checking the oil level/quality

The reels fecked Cheep enough on ebay but be careful cos they changed them around 98 for a different shape buckle
