Disco 2 fuel pressure reg leak

I have done 3 of these on my TD5, one was aftermarket, one second hand and one I just bought the regulator. The first included the main body to head gasket, the other gaskets I got of ebay. The new regulator has been on for a few years now but I do have a pressure problem at start up, no power...

    Disco 2 Cold start problem

I’m with James – fuelling issue. I can’t be bothered waiting for the light to go out and she will start without a problem. Unbuernt fuel in a cold exhaust wont smoke, will it ? The only time I may have a starting problem is if I have less than a 1/3 tank of diesel but I think this is a FPR issue...

Disco 2 Power Steering Fluid (for a truck!!!)

Never changed mine, 305k miles and still goes in the right direction ! Life can be difficult enough with a D2 without trying to find non existent problems.

    Discovery TD5 - Handbrake Light

Fair point on the bodge - I'll have to do something as the water sensor/plug has disintigrated so nothing lights up now. Will check sensor over the weekend. I'm interested in peoples mental/driving attitude towards ABS, on my Discovery all 4 brakes work, TC works (but some of the lights don't)...

    Discovery TD5 - Handbrake Light

Unpluged fluid and handbrake switches. 3 amigos are not reliable following this issue (which you kindly helped with a few years ago) https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/td5-abs-tc-and-hd-lights.213967/ I never got round to unwiring the instrument panel wires - on my list of things to do! I...

    Discovery TD5 - Handbrake Light

Handbrake light stays on - checked brake fluid level and all OK. I have also disconnected both switches which I thought would have extinguished the light but it stays on. I can't see anything else which would cause the light to stay on but I am open to suggestions !!

    Overheating problem

An interesting situation regarding the fan - I removed my siezed fan about 5 years ago and have never had a problem with overheating, even driving through London on the hottest day of this year. If you are on a motorway (and moving!) there is enough air flow through the radiator to keepthings...

    Engine difficult to start

If the ECU connector was full of oil the rest of that loom and the ECU may be contaminated - best case clean the inside of the ECU, worst case new ECU and engine wiring loom.

    Centrifuge Oil Filter Cover problems.

Don't worry about stripping threads just us two long bolts and nuts to secure the cap. It's easier to do the one nearest the engine with the main filter off.

    Anyone done Broomway?

Not sure my chassis would last that long but would love to try it !!

    Air intake sphincter?

I've sealed that part up, along with a few other holes in the bottom of the air filter box - don't want water getting in. If the air filter box has water in it and the engine is running then disaster looms, the air/water mix may get pulled in. Too late to "dump" it later !

    TD5 centrifugal oil filter cover

use longer nuts that go right through on both, but do this before you fit the other oil filter otherwise getting to the one nearer the engine is very difficult

    TD5 fan removal - won't come off

Been running mine for 5 years in the UK and Europe without a fan, we're still going strong, not sure I could even find the fan now!
