It is unusual that they didnt develop air on all 4 corners on the D2 when they already had done so on the last Classic RRs and the then new P38A. Maybe to emphasize the higher class of the RR over the Disco?

Might have been a trailer full of heavy Masons? :lol: Keep at it, its worth it on the few days that everything is working as it should do!

Sooo glad mine didnt come with ACE, one less thing to go wrong. A D2 without it drives perfectly well especially on standard rear air suspension. Get rid! (Massive improvement over a D1 - I drove my dads on a twisty road and it was like piloting a boat:eek:)

Re this cam seal cover, mines a bit oily as well, does the seal just pop or prise out and the new one clip in?

Ive got a silver one (Zambezi silver '04) The red is the colour I wanted but the silver one came up, typical! :D

I strongly suspect that it will be the exhaust manifold blowing. Is the engine remapped?, this can make them very susceptible to this, the exhaust manifold warps with the increased engine temperature then breaks several of the mounting studs causing the screech by way of escaping exhaust gas...

I know what you mean, Im mechanically savvy, keep an eye on my cars and keep them working well with regular maintenance. But how do people who have no idea, interest or care, manage to keep their cars going? Is it just luck, ignorance or a huge bill come MOT time?

My 2004 D2 is on its 4th (yes I have replaced 3!) passenger side electric window motor and it has just failed again. I replaced the regulator as well after the second one failed. The window channels have been sprayed with silicone lubricating spray so they are not too stiff. Im assuming that...

No I mean is a new o ring required on the input or output pipes? What sort of price are new / recon pumps - I see Paddocks have them for around £150.

Great post coz its just what Im about to order tonight, and tackle next week! I replaced the steeringbox last weekend because it was leaking. Since then the steering has been heavier than before. Ive spoken to Paddocks who supplied the box and National Power Steering who supplied the recon box...
