    Disco 2 R380 improving change?

Hi, Im sure the R380 box has been discussed to death. Ive got a slightly obscure question. Mine with 132K miles works perfectly and has had regular oil changes. My wife drives it more than me. Unfortunately she has fibromyalgia and is finding the change uncomfortable and a bit heavy, I dont...

defender 110, Disco 2 or Disco 3 which one?

A question I ask myself regularly. So for what its worth, I have a D2 which I have owned since it was 3 years old with 33K miles, its now 11 years old with 132K miles, It is a fantastic family car and thats why Ive owned it twice as long as any previous car. It carries everything, tows anything...

Seat bolster cracking but unsure of material???

Ah I see, thats similar to what was used in the G4 edition Discoverys. Its a vinyl made to be easily cleaned and closely resembles leather seatss. I really cant imagine how that could be repaired in a satisfactory manner. I would think an auto trimmer could remove and replace the bolster...

Seat bolster cracking but unsure of material???

What model of freelander is it? Probably 1/2 or even full leather seats, auto trimmer could repair. Side steps steel frame probably rusting away, my 11 year old Disco is the same, will need a bit of refabrication with 1" box steel and the mig or arc welder when I get a chance!

    And then there were two!

Im considering another car for commuting and just did a few "compare the meercat" type searches. I was surprised how reasonable they are even with no NCB on a new policy although Im 40 with no claims in 9+ years. £224 for a Rover 75 CDTI Connoisseur SE.

Tapes - destined to make a comeback!

A while ago, several years actually the cassette player in my Discovery stopped playing tapes properly, sound all muffled and quiet even when turned up. So with a CD multichanger and an ipod radio adaptor I didnt think any more about it and stopped using it. Tapes taken out of the car and...

    Which Tyres

I cant fault the General Grabber AT2, had them on my D2 for years, handled well and lasted forever, just replaced them all with the newer pattern AT and am similarly impressed:)

    Stainless steel exhausts.

Hope its a diesel, wouldnt want to pay the additional fuel cost for a V8 to be quiet :D

    Stainless steel exhausts.

What model of Disco was that? Never heard of factory stainless exhaust from LR. My original lasted 7 years, MS replacement been on 4 years and looking a bit ropey now. Considering now SS or MS replacement - just to decide how long its likely to stay with me to make it worthwhile.

    MOT advisory brake imbalance

Its a Northern Ireland MOT test which is done by DVTA, not independent garages so theres no additional profit or business in it. It was put down as an advisory, I was surprised given the small amount of discrepancy.

    MOT advisory brake imbalance

General MOT question. MOT'd my 04 Disco 2 last night. It passed but got an advisory on headlight aim, no big deal. But also on brake test which I didnt notice till I looked at the paperwork back home. The values are:- Brake effort:- Axle 1 Nearside 4.63kN Offside...

    What tyre choice?

My definition would be non damaging and capable of being driven by anything, Freeelander upwards.
