evening gents... hope someone can help here... So, my mate drove is disco for longer than it should with a wheel bearing gone... everything kind of welded itself to the hub and stub axle.. So I had to replace the broken bits. His disco is a 95 300tdi Stub axle, I ordered it off the internet...

how did you guess? well, for starters that rear cross member doesnt have a spot of rust... that's a good way of figuring out is somewhere nice and warm and the license plate on the estate on the background :D

the fan spins all the time.... that's why i took the fan out of my Defender, the only thing it does there is splatter water and mud all over the engine bay

Yep, that's my plan :D im doing the first one as a template and showcase, then I'll try and figure out a way of getting it done with less cutting and more folding areas, like a cardboard box, so it takes less time to put it together

expensive.... but very easy to do :D that's why im doing my own taking more time as I dont have all the metal available, so a mate is trying to source some free sheet metal so I can carry on... I'll keep this updated as I go along...

Well.. here's a bit of an update!! Havent had much time since Nov to work on this, but as Im on leave till the 20th Feb, I'll try and get this done....if nothing else comes up to fix! So after the cardboard template, I trimmed it down in size and shape as the cardboard was too big.... So far...

well, Paddocks looked at it and they reckon its the manufacturer, as jamesmartin says. They are going to order new ones in from a different manufacturer and see if they are smaller. for now I've taken all the wheel spacers out till I get this sorted at least I fitted the new brake shoes, so...

what a load of crap!! Got my new drive flanges, fitted it and they are too fkin big! the lugs where the bolts go through are wider than the original ones and wont allow for the wheel spacer to fit! i thought these drive flanges were all the same? Called paddock spares and they say i definately...

whoooo... 2 different answers! what to do, what to do!! I'm leaning more towards Retroanaconda answer as it does make sense and its more complete than Oldseadog though anyone else care to share their views? Gonna be doing this job this afternoon... and I was thinking of taking the other side...

I dont have any pics of mine but on a defender with side vents, on the inside there's a plastic mould that goes into a tube, this tube would go to your airbox. when you fit the snorkel on the outside, it screws into this plastic moulding and squeezes the inside and outside against the wing.

Quick question gents.. now that i have my new drive flanges I'm also putting new brake shoes in as the ones I have in there have almost nothing left. But I think i might be missing a spring? or maybe it wasnt connected properly? I've taken this pic from busters guides and then modified it...

how is that near brake lines? as far as i know, on that side you are fine, its the other side that any rust will be a fail as its near the brake servo
