    well on the piper cams i use it is run in at 2-3,000 rpm for 20 min to bed the cam in if this is not done it can cause follower and cam issues

    depending on the age and milage i would also suspect changing the thrust washers if it was a manual as too much end float on the crank can damage the gearbox

    if you have a ramp easy drop the trans if not drop the engine as a bench mark record for a box out is 45 min on a ramp engine out on the floor 2 hours with a few damaged bolts on the exhaust

    standard dealer followers are the best only ones i use! also sounds like you have not followed the cam run in procedure which could invalidate the warranty and it does take atleast 10 min of running to bleed up. i always prefill mine when rebuilding the engine

    it is only fitted to cat equiped engines so any range rover or d1 after 1992 will have it fitted. if you are using one of these looms on a no cat engine then leave the plug disconnected

    dont do that! one remove and clean the stepper motor two remove the intake pipe and clean the throttle housing three ensure the breather pipe and flame trap are clear four start engine run to temp five ensure that there are no loads with the engine running air con heater lights are all off...

    start with the basics 1. road tyres 2. bushing, rear axle bal joint, steering joints worn steering box 3. condition of air springs. 4. did you lock the eas for towing or leave unlocked?

    i would be inclinned to run on petrol ensure you have no more over heat episodes first this will prove it is the gas system causing the fault. or did the garage do their job properly and bleed the system. as for the tappets load of cobblers if you have fitted non gen followers you will be back...

    unless you have a late 3.9 bock then you have no hope of fitting the crank sensor or the knock sensor mounts. instead of wasting money on the cosmetics spend it on having you original block overhauled

    The best cheat is remove the inspection plate on the bottom of the bell housing round plate with 3 bolts undo all the torque convertor bolts 4 of them push the torque convertor back into the gear box 1/4" inch then bent a L shape piece of metal and bolt it though the hole in the bell housing...

    Breather needs changing every twelve months tobe safe. I would get the injectors tested properly leaking on the nozzles very coman. As for removing the egr it would not fail an Mot but could make it harder to pass
