I have screwed the bolt clockwise until tightened, then screwed anti-clockwise 1.5 turn as D2 manual said, I still feel drum (front plate?) tight. Do I need to release hand brake first?

Hi My disco. 2 td5 failed MOT for the excessive moment of hand brake. I know this issue is not complicated but I have not done this. Can anyone tell me how to shorten travel distance of hand brake? Thanks! Kai

Does a discovery2 td5 alternator have different capacity? e.g. some cars have ACE or non ACE, or AC or non AC. Mine have both ACE and AC.

In theory, regulator has high input impedance measured from its output. If it is blown, the input impedance would drop to near zero, i. e. short for battery unless alternator has protection mechanism , this is my concern.

I will get powerful battery as recommended by sierrafery. Is it worth to try to confirm if the alternator is faulty again with it? Would it damage the battery if the regulator of the alternator is damaged?

I bought a car charger Ring RSC612 from halfords. It can analyze both battery and alternator https://www.ringautomotive.com/en/product/rsc612, attached document. The battery start power is 9V good, the capacity is 57% > bad 50%. But alternator tests indicates F07 error code, poor functioning...
