    i have an ARC inverter and its a great little machine, it cost a few bob though but so handy! mig is easier to use but i find arc cheaper to run and once you get used to it its all the same. Google sip T170 if ya fancy a look its about 2-3 kg and a foot in length

    theres a few quides to doin it the other way round! so go by them.. my 2.5 petrol is doing 17mpg!! its a cracker of an engine really but i cant afford that so thats why im doin a 200TDI conversion.

    Outrigger Rust

    I only removed the radius arm when i replaced my o/s front outrigger, shouldn't be much different for the n/s? the hardest part is removin the remains of the old one, but it just requires patience new one is handy to stick on with a welder.

    Rubbish brakes

    as redhand says bleed the brakes, and try to flush out all the old fluid while you do it.. brake fluid absorbs moisture naturally so if its been in there a few years it will have done so which could lead to spongy brakes - probably something a dealer wouldn't do cause your not likely to check
