I'd imagine that they don't wanna spend 800 pounds because its disgustingly expensive but don't have the confidence/know how to do it themselves...

    best tyres and size?

To the op, would it not be beneficial to run two sets of wheels? Standard road tyres for towing and then you can chuck your mud tyres on for green laning.

The Story so far, My snotbag disco...

Gotcha paul, cheers! Trouble with the breaker bar is trying to lock the pulley off rather than getting enough force on the breaker bar... I think next stage is going to be cranking the engine over again and if not what you have suggested but maybe locking the engine off at the flywheel...

The Story so far, My snotbag disco...

Redhand, I did give this method a go but the battery didnt gave enough grunt left in it to crack the nut, the engine just stopped dead. Whats the reason you'd remove glow plugs?

    Checker plate rear windows

I got a mate who's done his alpine windows and rear side windows, doesnt look the prettiest but is functional and does the job! He's sacked the rubbers off but not sure how he's fastened them on, I would imagine rivets and sikaflex to keep it all waterproof.

Whip the door cards off and have a look, when I got mine someone had propped the drivers window up with a bit of wood... all I needed was a new regulator and window runner

    Disco 1 upgrades/improvements ?

Some standard height bearmach blue hd would be more suitable for you I reckon... maybe get rid of the viscous fan and fit a leccy one... use it much at night? Maybe a working light for the rear and some spots? All depends how blingy u wanna be as they are very capable vehicles as they are!

    ride height after lift correct?

The original springs have probably never been changed so they'll have sagged and will probably be completely shagged - replacing mine lifted it considerably more than 2 inches so i wouldn't worry!

    What to do first.

Fix all your rust, take it out to work and play then decide what you need next/most for your needs!
