Thanks for replying - So what happened is that coming up to a roundabout, as I braked to a stop the car started to jolt or jump continuously, and continued to do so whilst it was in drive and under brakes ( for a couple of seconds) until I moved off again and picked up speed. Then it happened...

Picked up a Freelander 1 Auto (2005) today. Getting used to it and all seemed fine and dandy but at journey’s end after some city and country driving it started ‘hopping’ at very low speed, i.e in Drive or Reverse without accelerator pressure. Fairly sure it wasn’t leaving the handbrake on...
