    Secret Switch?

if it's in the metal part immediately under the dials that's kind of hidden and secret, it's the location for a fuel changeover switch in twin tank models. If I had a working scanner, I'd scan my (arabic) owners manual that shows it. Don't know if the picture is in the uk manual. It's a black...

    Is vegetable oil that simple?

it's simple if you don't mind damaging yer engine long term - otherwise its anything but simple. To do a proper conversion'll set you back at least 500 quid in parts and time.

    19J sump gasket??

is there any reason the 19j engine doesn't require a sump gasket where all the other varieties do? Looking thru the parts manual there aint one for the 2.5TD, but there is for the 2.25p, 2.5p, 2.5D and 200tdi. Then looking at my 2.5TD there aint one fitted. Is this to give the engine a weak...

It was actually stopped cos the new Td5 bonnet was made of tin foil and balsa wood. I know 2 folk with older wheel mounted bonnets retro fitted to Td5s and they dont foul the engine.
