What did you do with your Range Rover today

Replaced oil cooler on L322 (after replacing engine rad about 2 weeks ago) as was still getting occasional cooling strategy. Plastic release collar on bayonet broke and couldn't get collar off so cut pipe and extended with ally pipe off old cooler. Now a bit paranoid not connected properly as...

A dash cam for less than £12

How long before the EEC says "you can't have passengers in the seats because you use more fuel and it obscures the view from the windows"????? :) Chuffin' EEC

    Fuse 40 EAS&SM blowing

Is the compressor getting hot but not running. If it's the same fuse that I blew (starter motor / eas compressor) then the compressor may be jammed. I replaced the seals and not long after (a few months) the piston arm broke in the compressor and jammed - the subsequent overload blew the fuse...

Looks like I have a duff nanocom!!

Update!! Nanocom sorted! The people at BBS are excellent, can't recommend them enough! (Just don't use Royal Mail Parcel Force - they told me 4 days and it took 10. So now called Royal Snail). Lenb

Looks like I have a duff nanocom!!

That would be kind, at least it would rule out my own vehicle - we could check the live data perhaps (which is not working on mine). PM me if we can do it sometime this weekend. :)

Looks like I have a duff nanocom!!

It was an 'administrator' of the nanocom forum (who I believe has a connection with BBS) who guided me and is sending an RMA so I can send it back - he seems to think there is a fault and has apologised. I'm quite happy with the good reputation of BBS and that it will be repaired/sorted - it's...

Looks like I have a duff nanocom!!

Been on the nanocom forum and updated firmware as suggested. Still getting the same problem so it looks like it's the nanocom itself.

Looks like I have a duff nanocom!!

2000 DHSE and it won't 'talk' to them either! Is there a way I can clean OBD port in case it's a bad connection?

Looks like I have a duff nanocom!!

Yes I was careful to read the instructions and set it up using laptop USB. Also connecting the lead to device before attaching to OBD port etc. I was getting live readings to start then all of a sudden it stopped doing it. I can check my eas but now nothing else. On the 'nanocom' tab there is a...

Looks like I have a duff nanocom!!

Had my Nanocom Evolution for a week and decided to try for some 'live' readings - keep getting the 'communication error' no matter what I try. I was getting momentary readings but then it stopped 😁 It does however talk to EAS ecu. Did a 'pin test' and pin 7 comes out as error...

Time to change or spend on my 2.5 P38

    Ok will do :)

Time to change or spend on my 2.5 P38

I think to be quite honest I had already decided the best option was to keep what I had, but it's nice and reassuring to get others opinions :) It's also a lot easier to save up the money required for repairs than 10-15k for an L322 + extra for gearbox etc. I think I'll invest in a faultmate...

Time to change or spend on my 2.5 P38

It is in pretty good nick and does not show it's age. And if I could be sure it was 'up to the job' would gladly keep it and upgrade where necessary.

Time to change or spend on my 2.5 P38

I must admit that I have thought that also. But am I asking too much of it when towing? I don't like the idea of it breaking down on the way! (The ear ache would be unbearable :) )

Time to change or spend on my 2.5 P38

I'm beginning to wonder if my current P38 is up to the job I ask of it: it's my daily transport and I do 10,000+ miles each year which includes 3 or 4 holidays towing my 1900 kg caravan. It's now on 139,000 miles and I believe it's original gearbox, (I've owned it 5 years and done 50,000 miles...

Oil forced out of intercooler pipe from EGR

Well cleaned everything out and took it on a 400 mile journey yesterday (Sat) to Weymouth and back and no leaks (except small amount out of filler cap). Looks like I've averaged over 25 mpg for the journey (mostly motorway but 140 miles busy and hilly 'A' roads plus busy busy Bristol). Thanks...

Oil forced out of intercooler pipe from EGR

Hi Wammers, Have taken off the cam cover - the oil separator (I assume metal gauze) is thick with oil & vent valve probably same. Can these be cleaned or is it best to renew? As for the intercooler, I've never touched it in 50,000 miles and I'm not sure it was beforehand. Will this have damaged...

Oil forced out of intercooler pipe from EGR

Just towed my 1670 kg caravan to Hols and back (250 miles towing) without any problems but noticed black oil on drive this morning. On checking noticed a lot of oil has been forced out of intercooler pipe (from EGR) rad end. Could something be blocked?? Not towed for 18 months so could it be a...
