my disco 1 seems to struggle between 40 an50 auto

It's because the gear change is between 40 and 50 into top. It will change up at about 50 but if you slow to almost 40 it wont change down unless you floor it so it seems like it is stuck in the mud until it reaches 50 ish. Our lasses motor is the same but she also has big tyres on hers :)

    auto box problems.

Gearbox oil level & condition of oil filter check that the selector is moving properly (get someone to move the stick while you look and see if the selector lever is moving properly) We had a very similar problem with an old Volvo, turned out the oil was old and ****ty ;)

    Help needed!

Is there any oil in it? Does the oil need topping up or changing? Does the selector move back and forth easily?

Changed the prop, flange and spacer. Someone on here sells them, he also sells them on ebay (can't remember who though), you get everything you need, even the bolts :D

    Baaaad vibration ??

Discovery 300Tdi 1997 :) Driving back today noticed that the old lass was vibrating badly, a bit like when you accelerate hard in too high a gear, only a lot worse when I accelerate. It doesn't do it in the lower gears 1,2, and 3rd it does it in 4th from about 30mph and in top around 50 mph...

    Fitting modulars

At present I have alloys on my Disco, I am putting a set of Dakar tyres on and I am thinking of putting modulars on as well. The modulars seem to stick out more (offset ?) so will this cause me any problems with excess wear on wheel bearings etc? I know it's probably a stupid question but if...
