I would agree with previous posts sounds like the battery is on the way out :boom:. It is a common fault/diagnose on other cars not just FL.

Is it petrol or diesel, if revs drop that low the oil pressure is dropping and will cut out. If its a petrol engine check the advance and retard pipe work is okay sometimes the valve sticks.

This might be a really thick question? so no doubt will get some sort of rude response, any way here goes. Has any body spoken to Land Rover and told them that we are not happy that the vcu is none repairable also what should be the optimal time for the weight test or how is the best way to test...

HI, In the work shop to check things like this we jack up the wheel, top to bottom movement usually means wheel bearing, side to side movement can mean track rod end. when you jack the wheel up spin it if its the bearing you will hear it rumble. we did have a chap once who had gone down a farm...

not sure if anybody knows this but if you want to know what engine oil, diff oil ect you need for your freelander you can go on Castrols' web site give your reg number and you get a list of the grades that you need Might be handy for some people. Celt 69

Cheers for getting back so quick. The noise is more of a squeak, squeak, squeak and when I give the belt a quick spay it goes away for a few minutes. However as you say there is so much bits there I well tomorrow strip the lining out and stick my head in there to try and make sure.

I think my belt tensioner is on its way out as there is an odd noise coming from the driver side which goes away when I use the good old fashioned WD40. has any bod changer these. how easy are they to change as well as roughly how much do they cost and where is the best place to get them Cheers
