The vent flaps on my series 3 rattle at higher speeds, they are loose on the hinge pins.

It's irritating, as it disturbs the serenity provided by the rubble of the tyres and the whine of the transfer box.

Aside from shimming the pins with insulating tape or something, any other cures for this annoying but trivial problem?

A thin smear of grewase on the pins to stop things sticking, then injecta. littel silicone selamt into the femal
Heat shrink should do it!
Bet it will catch as you refit the flaps, maybe try a thin smear of grease on the pins, then some silicone sealant in the female part, refit flap and leave silicone to set.

@Wildefalcon i don’t have any problems with my pins rattling.. ;)

Well. The heat shrink worked. Sort of. As predicted it was marginally too thick to allow the pin to fit. But it worked well as a shim.

i was thinking just that i did the same with some pins i had on a bonnet latch i put on my 2a, it sort of wortked a while but kept on getting caught when inserting the pin.

When i bought my S2 they had practically no seal left so i would get a cold draft even when shut. I fitted new seals and found it hard to close them. Fitting new seals might remove any loose play.

Yes, many things did exactly that. Lubricating the spud shaft between the transit gearbox and the defender transfer box not least of them.
