... A bit unhappy to find that the bonnet paintwork on the old P38 is a bit "rough".
I had the car cleaned inside & out today and brought it home and the top on the bonnet is all gnarly and "pitted" feeling. :(
There's "spots" on it too like the paint it discoloured.
Ho Hum.
The roof? Just a thought if thay used sea foam and it dried on in hot sunshine

Was it like it before the clean ? THAY may have used the wrong stuff or to aggressive cleaner
Well the other panels are all fine so I think it is just the bonnet.
It does look nice though (overall).

Problem (maybe)
Looking to replace these pipes from the pipe cover to the radiator.
15mm to 10mm elbows then 10mm micro pipes along top of skirting boards to rad.
Reason is so I can lift pipes higher and get tighter bends to rad valves, should look neater than what's there now.
Is there going to be a pressure problem reducing the pipe diameters?
Be kind I'm not a plumber 😃

Skirting only loose fitted btw, not a joiner either 😃

Fresh coat of white paint on the pipes, will make it look neater with a lot less work.

Window man were a bit pushy. Wunt wuk wiv me. We has agreed int principle eye will have em fitted wivvin 6 months but not when. They can naff oft till am satisfied and ready. Gorra free door assa gimmick to fit sooner. But yer never know if that were already priced in before eye delayed moving forwards. Eye kept saying eye ain't ready from the beginning. Only agreed to the quote as they done the front on me naybers ouse and its on me plan fer future. Eye is smarterer than the average bear. A buyer ov quality being a Freelander ownerer. Eye ain't rushin into anyfink unless eye is appy. Countersigned by edgar. They ain't discused window spec yet. Just where and which bits open. Surveyor has to come and do practical finking of real size ov oles, lintels, steel in plastic frame and worrabout stuff.
All sounds a bit overblown and iffy to me. Fink I'd find someone else..

TBH I wouldnt bother, fresh coat of paint on the pipes. Whos gonna see/know/care? (the answer is not you)
If you really want them to run on top of the skirting they will be more visible even if smaller pipe.

Yes there will be extra resitance to the rad but it is a short distance it may not affect it much. but it could put that rad out of balance. Not a professional answer I know but have never worked with micro bore.

There's a sqworkin squirrel on me garage going bonkers at worr eye fort was anuvva squirrel who wants to share brekfust nuts. He's bin going fer 5 mins despite me looking out so eye gorrup and went out the front to look down the side ov me castle. Nowt. He stayed ont apex and shuttup. Bit later he's sqworkin again. Eye goes out the back. He's up a tree sqworkin. No cats in me naybers garden. E came down and sat at t'other end ov me garage where he can see me at the kitchen door. Eye goes in so he moves to the eating end. Very nervous about going down ferra nut. Lookering down both sides ov me gate. Still dun't know worrit was. Problem is more than visual
Old skirting was only 2" high and one pipe ran above and one along the wood
Pipes need to be bended outwards to clear the skirting as they don't (and never have) sit nicely on the wall as they come down
So either bend pipes to fit and leave ugly set up as is or cut shorter and go micro 🤔

Or cut shortern in the pipe trunking make them both run above the skirting in a neat manner and lift the Rad brackets a few inchs higher.
Or just remake the 1 that used to run along the wall from inside the trunking. or just the last bit from the bend so it meets the rad correctly.

You have to remember whats visually wrong to you (you know cos you worked with it) is visually invisable to most.

Tidied part of me garage this morning to a (very) basic standard and binned some junk. Emptied my box of assorted drill bits yesterday and binned most of them (why I kept knackered bits I don't know). Got under me tratter bonnet this morning and checked most of the fluids, had to put half a gallon of screen wash in. Then got underneath to grease the UJ's, got three done easily but the 4th as usual proved difficult due to limited access, and me grease gun ran out of grease. Refilled and had another go, then gave up as it has started to chuck it down. Finish it another day. And I need some new overalls, a scarecrow would refuse to wear my current ones. Got to go up in me loft later to find all my camping gear (no, not that sort of camping, I ain't a freelanderer), bike club for hooligans rally this week.
