The torque settings on the sump for my TD5 are not high and there isn't much space to put one in to do up the oil pump sprocket bolt. My nomal 1/2 inch torque wrench does for everything else, but it doesn't go below 20 ft lbs.

My old fashioned, torque indicator type wrench is back in Blighty and it also is too wide as it has a 1/2 " drive on both sides, as I'm sure you can imagine.

So there you go, as regards ovens...
I now have 4 torque wrenches. How many does you have , boyoh??!! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

My grandpa did do one thing when it came to Meccano. Without saying or doing anything, beyond building a working windmill with a set I got for Christmas, he sort of made it plain to me why you need washers. I was about 6 at the time!

I have yet to get it out of its plassy box, Maybe I'll put a piccy up and you'll be able to tell your missus that you want one like it for Crimble!!🤣🤣🤣

Tis obvious you's from north of Hadrian's wall.
Peeps who live there call it Torbay. When i was in Exeter doing my teacher training we quickly learned not to call it what you just did!!!

I think this will come under the heading of a tool I bought just to do one job, though It might come in handy in the future.
I bought a flip-off powerful torque wrench to do just one job on the Mini I did. Front hub nut torque on it was mad.
Hain't used it since! 🤣 🤣 🤣

Done the same with a transit 50mm socket iirc, someone borrowed it & I had to ask for it
back even though I'll probably never need it. :p

Tis how its spelt snot how you say it & it doesnt rhyme with your wrenches.

I dunno why peeps from torKKKaaayyy, don't like it being called by its name. Torbay encompasses other places too.

"Torbay /tɔːrˈbeɪ/ is a unitary authority with a borough status in the ceremonial county of Devon, England. It is governed by Torbay Council, based in the town of Torquay, and also includes the towns of Paignton and Brixham."

But it would really work better if, instead of calling it a torque "wrench" which is far more Merkin than I am happy with, they called it a torque Spanner, or a Torque bar.
Funnily the French for spanner is "clé" pronounced "clay" and is the same word as they use for "key".
But they call a torque wrench a "Clé (so good so far) dynamométrique" (oh poop, just when you thort you were going to have a good result!!)
But "torque" is translated as "couple" so that jiggers it completely. 🤣🤣🤣
 
Dear gang. Just to let you know as the only Male Lesbian on Landyzone. I'd like to thank all of you lot, for your support in my weight issues. At present I am able to sit up in bed as I type this message. Since last month being on the Tapeworm diet recommend by Nig, I am down to 80st from 80st and 1lb. Well you'd have loved it if it had been "torque -clé " cos that would sound nearer to Torquay.
What is funny is that the word "torque" does look very French as a lot of their words finish in "que" in fact "que" on its own is a word.

Some people call it "turning moment" which is weird in itself, what the heck is "moment" doing in that?
Well here is the answer,

So why the flip couldn't they have called it "turning movement" although it should be "turning force" as that is a more accurate description.

Wot teacher worth his/her salt marks work? Only ones with no brain.
Kids learn far more from marking their own or each others work.

I only ever marked certain types of written work and the marking was designed to help them concentrate on their mistakes so I didn't correct it, they learned nothing from that, why would they?? So they redid it concentrating on what was indicated to them.

If you have never seen work returned to a class, all they ever do is glance at the mark and then look around to their mates saying, what did you get then??!! They never read the "2 Stars and a wish" type remarks we were supposed to write at the bottom. Even if they did they forgot them within seconds and repeated the errors endlessly!

And I notice that they are allowed to use AI but then "have to check the marking". WTFlip? Why bother if you are going to do that, then just mark it!!!

As for letters to parents, we just kept them on the pooters and changed the name before printing them off!!
I even used to keep two versions one with "Him, his" in it and another with "she, her" etc in it.

Seriously cannot believe how backward some places must be!! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
