Mot on Monday so thought I'd best patch the holes in the passenger footwell. My Dads brill at all sorts of fabrication so he welded and answered the million and one questions my 10 year old had, lovely to see!
It's a bit of a bodge but if it lasts through to next summer I'm hoping to of saved enough for a new bulkhead by then as its not great around where the door seals fits or under the windscreen seal! All a bit of a balancing act with the house to re-roof etc! Here's some pics! 😊

Fitted my new OE (landrover) fuel pressure regulator on the td5 this morning, took my time, pressure washed it all first, took about 1.5 hours with being a bit ocd about cleanliness, but no leaks and very happy, I was surprised at how easy it was really after reading alot of things online.

Then this afternoon replaced my a-frame ball joint with a gwyn lewis item, already pressed into the bracket, with a nice properlene dust cover, so just 4 bolts to undo (one lower shock bolt to get the droop needed for the big rear bolt, and the ball joint bracket bolts) and it was easy because we copper greased everything after chassis swap) and I clean it regularly and also lanoguarding helps I think. But bit of a doddle, which again left me feeling very happy. Going to replace the rear prop with a GKN one tomorrow, then, 🤞, that's all the pressing jobs out of the way!

Oh yeah, forgot to say, also fitted my (new to me, but very old) series 3 steering wheel to the 90.(bit of a game researching 36 or 48 spline wheels, and went down a weird rabbit hole with the whole subject!) 🤦‍♂️
I've always hated the look of the standard td5 one, it's fat, and ugly. The series 3, 3 spoke is so nice to the touch, nice and narrow and 'open plan' and feels really classic. (The only downside being ive lost my auto cancelling indicators, but not a problem at all really). The series 2 style gear knobs and now steering wheel make the cab feel nice and retro. When I fit some two piece doors with sliding glass it will complete the feel I'm after! 😊
