Had a day out on the banks of Loch Awe. On the trip there I became aware of a new noise; a sort of muted howl, unable to determine front or rear, drivers side or passengers side. Noise the same regardless of gear or on the overrun, so unlikely to be gearbox.
Coming home the noise returned, this time with a slight 'buzz' through the steering wheel. Both noise and 'buzz' goes away on left hand bends, returning on the straight and stays on right handers, so (hopefully) not the haldex or diff.
Looks like a front wheel bearing on the way out. 🙁
Only done 237,357 miles, dammit.

Get the terms of the LR warranty checked! Shocking

Switched out the RH upper engine mount insulator for a nice shiny new LR one.
It’s oil(?) filled, and was flagged as suspect whilst having some work done the other week. Sure enough, it was leaking when I got it out.
Think the tie-bar rubber is on the way too, so new one being ordered.

Shiny bit fitted, so RH mount and insulator is now fully replaced.
I’m sure there is still a very faint ‘wobble’ / ‘oscillation’ coming through in 1st and 2nd, in the higher revs, but only under hard acceleration (so high revs but low ish speed). It’s coming from somewhere that I’ve yet to find 🤔

The only other possibilities now would be the lower LH mount, or the last ‘old’ driveshaft (O/S), which could have caught some damage after I wrestled it in and out in a spanner-throwing afternoon doing the suspension last month I guess 🤪

That looks like a splendid, well organised, clean, well stocked garage. The stuff of dreams for me in my penthouse flat with an on-street parking space.
You wouldn’t say that if you saw the rest of it 😂

… when we first moved here, I could actually fit a car in it. No chance now!
But yes, it’s nice to clean it up and have a sort out every now and then. TBH, I got all the tool chests 2nd hand off flea-bay over a 12 month period for peanuts. Just tidied the dents, greased the drawer runners and rattle-canned them. Well chuffed with the results.

That’s one of the laws of the Universe: Crap expands at an inversely proportional rate to the space made available for its retention.

Along with the formula for the availability of a 10mm spanner in your shed/garage/toolbox at any given time;
n-1
Where n = the amount of 10mm spanner’s you have bought

I have that problem with 17mm spanners, which never seem to be available, dispite having 1/2 a dozen of them somewhere.
