I am pleased to have made my first part on the Boxford lathe. :D
It isn't for me but for a friend.
It is a little alignment tool to allow a shaft collar to be aligned with a bottom bracket cup and welded to it.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and it’s the first real thing made on the Boxford.
A piece of 30mm round bar fits snug inside the cup, the 18mm section fits snug inside the hole in the cup, and the protruding boss is about 12.5mm long and 16.99 mm diameter to fit the 17mm shaft collar.

All very much certain to ensure perfect alignment. :D

following on from @Hippo post about webuyyourcarfornowt.com, I had a look on Mercedes web site (idly thinking of buying a new one), and as they have a fill in box to value your trade in, I plugged me tratter info in. Valued at £22600 trade in - which is a drop of less than 3k sovs compared to what I paid for it at a dealer 11+ years ago. Held its value well . So, do I go for a new merc, which will plummet in value to about 30% of its buying price in about 4 years, or stick with me tratter which might even go up in value in that same time. Easy decision really - and I can still fix me tratter with a couple of hammers and some big spanners.

So you got a free boat that once had £100k spent on it? Or do I need reading glasses?

Wish I was born under the same star as you!

No your reading is fine lol I remember at the the time thinking why would you spend so much but he did say
he was into it for 60k so might as well finish it. Think he had a dream....
