l've not seen a single report of a new Defender being stolen.

Other models are still snowing off people's drives as the thieves swagger around helping themselves, but no new Defenders at being reported stolen.

l wonder, has Land Rover finally addressed the security issues?

I think it’s probably a case that the demand for parts isn’t like that of the original Defender. Perhaps in time, they’ll become a more popular target for thieves.

I’d like to think JLR has finally got it right though.

As well as less demand, maybe also because old Defenders are still appreciating in price but perhaps not so the new Defenders.

Well, statistically there are less new Defenders on the road in the U.K. and the security features are superior to the old version deleted in 2016 - which are more desirable to steal because it’s easier to break and cash in. However, the old Defender is still stolen ‘less’ than other current SUV’s and high spec 4x4’s - because proportionately there are less of them on the road.

The new Defender is being stolen, so same argument applies- there aren’t many on the road and we’ve had a few go in the area but they are just not as desirable as Range Rovers/D5’s - because new Defenders are scarce and less attractive in comparison. Over time they will be pinched more, but a RangeRover/ Sport will be nicked before a Lego toy on steroids…..

I ran a new 110 for 6Mths through work, it was OK but I prefer the D5 - in that 6Mths we had over a dozen D5’s and RangeRover Sports disappear vs 1 Defender,it wasn’t security - it just wasn’t desirable to the thieves….

Strange times….
