I just went to inspect the tyres on my defender that I bought recently. It's fitted with BFGoodrich Mudd Terrain KM3 tyres. Out of the 4 tyres, 3 read "DOT BFWY KM11" and only one has an additional "0718" for the manufacturing week/year at the end. How is this possible, and how can I determine the age of the other tyres?

Sounds strange, especially if they are the same make/spec.
Having said that, the last car I bought had one tyre that try as I might I wasn't able to find a DOT code & yes I did check both sidewalls.

Sadly for me we have to check these at work for the annual test.
Remoulds dont tend to have any date codes.

The dot code on my Michelin’s is only on one side walls so 3 of my tyres the dot code is actually on the inside face

so have you checked both sides of each tyre?
That sounds interesting. I'll check the inside. The code is probably hiding there. Here are the two photos of the outside labels:

Yea, that part I got myself :D
But as you can see, the other one is just missing the last bit with the manufacturing information. I'll climb under the car tomorrow when it's bright to check the inside of the tyres.
