possible project - 90 restomod

Hi All,


I'm looking for some advice as I'm new LR. A few years ago, I bought an N reg 90 300tdi. It's not in bad shape but plan was to use it.

I have restored/built a number of cars and have a pretty well-equipped garage.

I'm just about to finish my latest project and started thinking about my next project, I'd really like to do something to the 90. I've always completed restos to original spec as far as possible, now I'd like to take the 90 and update it.


I'm thinking...

LS3 engine
6 speed auto box
Bigger brakes
Better handling
Interior
AC
ICE
etc etc....


I see this has been done by a few high-end defender modifiers, but wonder if this is something an enthusiast could do.

I'm sure this must have been done before, but can’t find many resources.

I'm in the planning stages and would appreciate any advice or links that may help me in my quest.

I'm OK at mechanics, electrical, body work etc but am limited in my ability for fabrication.

Any direction/comments appreciated.
