I have a P38 2.5 dse 1997

I was removing the fuses to check all of them both under the bonnet and the seat

Before this the engine run no problem and after the engine will turn over but not start

I have recently replaced the diagnostic socket and it works fine, however from the 9 wires I can not find a wiring diagram to tell me what the each is for

The problem I have is that the ECM and the BECM won't talk and the code I can see what it is but when checking in the ECM it won't read it

I need to know what wires go to where so I can check there is no additional problems with the wires and my soldering may not have worked as planned but if I can check continuity on the wires I can check my work

Can anyone supply the diagram (I have RAVE) but can't find the page

Plus does the platnuim and red wire have multiple uses in the ECM and if so can you narrow the search down.

Thanks

No checking all the fuses as I had a EAS fault but the diagnostic socket had corroded so it needed to be replaced

I need to know what each wire in the black 16 pin OBD11 socket does as the BECM and the ECM no longer communicate. I can find the code in the system but the code is not being read and the diagnostic equipment can communicate with the car but it can't read the ECM

I need to know the wiring diagram for the plug so I can check continuity and therefore see if my soldering has been done correctly

The car was running fine until the fuses were removed to check and replaced and now the engine won't start but it will turn over

Anyone got the wiring diagram

Thanks

Are you getting "engine disabled" in the message centre?
If you can see the code you have comms so not quite sure what you are trying to achieve.

From memory not all 16 pins are used,I do know that 4 and 5 are grounds (black wires) and 16 is positive 12v Brown from the yellow plug underside of the fuse box engine bay.as for the rest I cannot help,my Rave is on another computer perhaps @wammers can help I've tagged him.

We are getting engine disabled

The diagnostic plug was replaced and we can communicate with the car but the code that for the ECM is not being sent from the BECM to the ECM, we can see the code but we can not get into the ECM and this is why I need the wiring diagram for the OBD11 socket so I can chect what wire is for the ecM in the OBD11 socket.

Can you help?

Updated info as I now have better diagnostic information
We need the wiring diagram because the security link code from the becm to the edc is not being read as the bosch edc talks to the becm then it enables the starter motor and the fuel system

Because I have replaced the OBD11 socket and connected the 9 wires on the diesel P38, I need to know what wire connects to the edc

Anyone who has the diagram please let me know as I am slowly going through rave

The code doesn't go through the obd socket unless you are entering it with diagnostics.
You can enter eka code using drivers door lock providing microswitches in latch are OK.
If you have later becm you can enter eka using nanocom. For this you turn ignition off, go into becm and I think it is under utility to enter eka code.
The message centre should read "becm diagnostic mode" otherwise it won't work.
Once the becm has the correct code, the comms to ecm doesn't go through obd port.
I would try eka using key

If you have engine disabled message on dash you need to enter the EKA code to clear it. But wth that message the engine should not turn over. If the engine turns over but does not start, ECM to BECM could have been lost. What are you using for diag?

I have the garage diagnostic, the autologic machine and software.
The wires deal with different parts of the system and the security link code from the becm to the edc is not being read as the bosch edc so I need to know what wire is for what

Hope you can help

Can you get into BECM and read security code? Can you get into ECM and read security code? You say you have engine disabled message on dash with that showing you should not be able to crank engine. Does sound like you have screwed somthing up.

I have resolved the issue

I live in a close and often work on the RR on my drive or just off the driveway and often leave the bonnet up for hours without being outside
I checked the fuses yesterday and they were all good and present, so I know that couldn't have been the problem.
I decided to double check my work again today and discovered that two fuses had been removed from the fusebox

The two problems I had were the EAS fuse 35 and 37 EMS

So I believe that someone has has taken out the fuses and as such caused these problems

I would never have thought it would have been that problem as I checked them the day before

Just goes to show that you must double check your work even if you think/know it has been done

Problem solved and thanks for all your help and advice
