I thought some might be interested to see what a French CT failure certificate looks like, in this case for my P38 4.0 V8 2000/X Autobiography...

It's a sort of "Good Luck" card written by someone who doesn't wish you good luck!

It has a certain Gallic vagueness about it...

Referring back to your other post about the abs, it failed purely on the light being illuminated. This is normal and healthy until the car is traveling over 5mph

Yes, thanks; initially I hadn't realised that this was all it was! At the time, he gestured in the general direction of the ABS Accumulator, pump and the adjacent ABS "block" - muttering "trois mille euros" to fix... He said he had failed another Range Rover a few weeks previously on the same problem, and the owner had decided not to fix it!! :eek:

Is there a complaints system in France similar to the MOT appeals system here?

The ABS and chassis number are nonsense, duff tyres, steering and brakes obviously need to be sorted.

Not sure to whom your remark is aimed... Me? The CT Technician? Or the owner of the other Range Rover?
Personally, I'm on a learning curve with P38's - hopefully with the help of this forum and YouTube videos I shall prevail over the various issues with which I am faced :)

Unfortunately, my poor car stood unused in all weather for just over a year, while I came to terms with a cancer diagnosis and ensuing treatment... Only now, after getting my own health problems resolved, am I able to start sorting out the car.

Good on you for getting your life back together, I had similar 5 years ago, which did leave me a bit quiet for a while. Happy to say most days now I don't give it a thought, and most of my bits work to an extent so that's all right.
