Any ideas to keep the ecu dry where it sits under the bonnet ? I've looked at the extended looms but don't have the funds around at the min to justify the £280 for one. Surely someone must have a waterproofing fix ? All help appreciated.

If water gets there you can't really wrap it as to not let it in due to the wiring... remove it's lids and spray the PCB and connectors once a year with this stuff

Seems good stuff but does it actually work ? Someone said wrap the ecu in a plastic bag cable ties around at the wires and then fill the battery compartment with expanding foam but don't quite like that idea lol

Yes it does

as you know oil can make it's way within the wires from the head to the ECU so so i doubt that a cable tied plastic bag will stop water to get in between the wires there and once it it will stay there due to that bag. Better not transform your D2 in an amphibian vehicle and you'll be OK with a water repellent protective coating

I told you in my frst reply that you have to open the ECU and spray the PCBs, see from minute 2.10... if you remove the 4 bolts both lids of the ECU will come apart
